The New England Institute is offering courses now for CEUs (Continuing Education Units -- the equivalent of 45 contact hours, or one course).  We are currently pursuing an academic partnership with an accredited college. When that process is complete, we will be offering courses once again for graduate and undergraduate credit.

The following courses can be taken for 4.5 CEUs.  All courses have been approved by the Maine Department of Education's Certification Office. Click on the course for more information. Some courses are also available as Guided Independent Studies (GIS).

Many of our courses are online, but some are hybrid courses, which means that students meet on location with an instructor for two weekends with approximately 10 weeks in between, and weekly contact via technology/mail/or telephone with the instructor as assignments are carried out.  This makes taking the course very do-able for teachers on a busy schedule.

We recommend that you check with your school district to verify these course offerings will meet your district and/or state requirements for salary advancement and/or certificate re-licensure.
