EDAR 530: Leadership in Arts Assessment

 

 

This is a special course reserved for Maine Arts Educators who are

Teacher Leaders selected by the Maine Arts Assessment Initiative.  

 

Course Description:

This course will provide a cohort of  dance, music, theater and visual art educators with professional development opportunities through participation in the Maine Arts Assessment Initiative’s  four-day Teacher Leader Institute in the Arts and workshop day.  Topics of study include:  Assessment in the Arts, Leadership, and Technology. Participants will follow up as workshop leaders in regional workshops, mentoring other educators and providing tools and resources. Pre-reading, participating in the Institute and workshop day, post-reading, and writing a summative, reflective paper are requirements for graduate credit in this course. The Maine Arts Assessment Initiative is sponsored in partnership by the Maine Department of Education, the University of Southern Maine, the Maine Alliance for Arts Education, the New England Institute for Teacher Education and other arts and educational organizations.
