Course Description: 4.5 CEUs
This course prepares educators and paraprofessionals to create learning environments and activities to effectively teach neurodivergent students including students with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and other related disabilities. Students in this course will gain an overall knowledge of neurodiversity while also delving more deeply into a particular disability of their choice. This course requires 45 contact hours of study.

Course Objectives:
- ●Analyze and explain the term “neurodiversity.”
- ●Explore the impact of neurodivergence on student learning and behavior.
- ●Demonstrate and explain the importance of creating neurodivergence-affirming classrooms.
- ●Implement a variety of evidence-based strategies to support students with different types of neurodiversity.
- ●Demonstrate a deeper understanding of either ADD/ADHD or ASD and support strategies for that student population.
