CEU Certificates

A CEU stands for Continuing Education Unit. One CEU is typically equivalent to ten contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience. The CEU granted by the New England Institute is at a higher standard of expectation than contact hours, because the work submitted is assessed and graded by its instructors.

When you successfully complete one of our courses by earning a passing grade (B or higher), you will earn 4.5 CEUs which is equivalent to 45 contact hours. This indicates the amount of time you've spent engaged in the course material and activities.

After successfully completing a course, your official CEU certificate with the New England Institute seal will be mailed to the address provided during your registration. You will also receive a digital copy via email.

New England Institute CEU certificates have been accepted by the Maine Department of Education for recertification. One of our courses, Teaching the Exceptional Child in the Regular Classroom K-12, is accepted for initial certification. Several of our courses can be applied to the Gifted and Talented endorsement.
