CEU Certificates
What is a CEU?
A CEU stands for Continuing Education Unit. One CEU is typically equivalent to ten contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience. The CEU granted by the New England Institute is at a higher standard of expectation than contact hours, because the work submitted is assessed and graded by its instructors.
Educators from across the United States have taken our courses successfully for professional development and license renewal in their own states. Because requirements vary by state, we encourage educators to check with their state to confirm acceptance. Our courses have been accepted by the Maine Department of Education for recertification for 4.5 CEUs (the equivalent of 45 contact hours) since 2011.
How many contact hours or CEUs will I receive after I complete a course?
When you successfully complete one of our courses by earning a passing grade (B or higher), you will earn 4.5 CEUs which is equivalent to 45 contact hours. This indicates the amount of time you've spent engaged in the course material and activities.
How do I receive my CEU certificate?
After successfully completing a course, your official CEU certificate with the New England Institute seal will be mailed to the address provided during your registration. You will also receive a digital copy via email.
