An exciting course coming soon to Portland!
This is a perfect course for educators in both K-8 and 9-12.
K-8 Educators will have the opportunity to work with “Celebration of Maine Children’s Books” by Paul Knowles and Lynn Plourde. If you are a High School ELA educator you will have the opportunity to design a course study of Maine Writers tailored to your needs. You may wish to study authors to complement your Maine Studies classes, or you may prefer to learn about Maine authors for recertification purposes. This course can be taken for 3 credits or 4.5 CEUs.
Key Maine Writers include: Robert McCloskey, EB White, Carolyn Chute, Edna St Vincent Millay, Cathy Pelletier, Stephen King, Richard Blanco and so many more.
This course will meet on:
Friday, April 1st from 4-8pm, Saturday, April 2nd from 8-4pm, and then on Friday, May 20th from 4-8pm and Saturday, May 21st from 8-4pm.
There will be intersession work done online and on the phone, and attendance during both weekends is mandatory.
